Damaged 2 ~ H.M.Ward~ Reveiw by Guest Reviewer Anna

Home isn’t supposed to be dangerous, but for Sidney it is. Returning home means that she has to face her past. It’s not just the man who hurt Sidney that makes it horrible, but the family that didn’t believe her. They were dead to her, but now that her mom is really dying things seem different. It’s a chance to set things right.

What Sidney doesn’t realize is that she’s dragging Peter into a collision course with his past. Peter must deal with the demons haunting him if he wants to move forward with Sidney. He’s willing to give up everything for her, even wade deeper into his past life to help her move forward. But, Peter isn’t sure if he can get over what happened to him in New York.

It is hard to talk about Damaged 2 by itself because it is less the second in a series, and more the second half of Damaged.  My main gripe with Damaged was that it didn’t end- it just stopped.  Not like a cliffhanger, more like the rest of the book had been torn off.  Now that I have the 2nd part of the book I’ve completely let go of any lingering irritation and feel completely sated by the two books together as a whole.
In Damaged- we are mostly focused on the angsty goodness that is Sidney and Peter’s strong attraction and growing connection as they fight the mild taboo of their teacher/TA relationship.  We also see both of them struggle to connect with and trust someone for the first time after experiencing significant abuse (Sidney) and tragedy (Peter).
Sidney’s past is pretty clearly revealed to us in Damaged, and I was pretty sure I knew what Peter’s deal was by the “end’ of the first book.  We are left with both of them preparing to go and face some of Sidney’s demons as she is called home to see her terminally ill mother before she dies.  I felt satisfied with the story up to that point and was eager to see what their journey would look like.  Then I start reading Damaged 2 and am quickly blindsided.  Turns out we know a whole lot less about Peter than we thought we did (we being me the reader, and Sidney). The great thing about this was that I felt really connected to Sidney’s character since we were both shocked and then left to figure things out from a whole new angle.  The book goes in a totally different direction than I expected, but luckily it was completely engaging and a great direction to be taken in.  It was like I ordered something I knew I liked from a restaurant but then the waitress brought me something different that I didn’t order, but ended up being much more delicious.
In this book we get to see Sidney continue to stand up for herself and face her family again for the first time after running away from home.  We get to see Peter struggle to deal with his own intense past, and we see the two of them battle to find their way through their respective personal messes so they can give each other what they need.  It’s great.  Sidney is a fantastic character.  She’s funny, smart, and really easy to root for.  Peter becomes more complex, but not in a manner that in any way diminishes his hotness.  The two of them together are completely charming.  They had me cracking up one minute and sighing the next.  Their chemistry is fantastic, and when they finally have coffee it is pretty spectacular.  I’m giving this a solid 4 stars (maybe 4.4 even).  I can’t quite round up to 5 because I still felt like there were a couple gaps. I had a difficult time figuring out how much time had passed throughout the course of the story.  And I felt like Sidney’s status with her degree and the university was not all that clear by the end of the book.  For those of you who read Damaged and have been waiting a while for this one, I recommend a re-read of that and then just flow right into Damaged 2.  In the case of this book, the whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.

                                                              Review by Carrie

If you have not read The First Boyfriend do not read!!

I couldn’t wait to read The Last Husband ever since I read The Last Boyfriend. I was all about Zane and Lucky’s story, with every turn of the page I couldn’t get more fast enough. If you haven’t read The Last Boyfriend, you must, than you will know a lot more about The Last Husband. The story did have POV’s that I love!! I have to say I loved The Last Boyfriend, but I think The Last Husband was way better!!

I loved Zane from the beginning, I didn’t think he was a creepy guy like the story started to play out.

.. Lucky is in LA with Zane. She’s there doing a documentary with Zane, so Lucky thinks. So where The Last Boyfriend ended, She fell in love. Love with Zane. Zane decided that he was going to feel what he never felt before, his love to Lucky. He wanted to be her last boyfriend.

Zane is the type of guy that I picture as this hottie above, but someone that is very sure of himself, someone that has it all, the looks, money, job, stability. All the things us women look for. But what Zane is lacking is love. Being left as young child by his “mysterious mother”, he has def has some mama issues.

Lucky, is by far my favorite. Just a good old all-American girl. One that wants to achieve everything in life, from having a perfect family, a family that struggled to make ends meet, and wants the perfect boyfriend. Has that crazy BF Leeza, that whores around.

The story takes you thru the scenes of Zane’s brothers death and the Revenge he was set out to conquer, Taking down Braydon. He had to lie and deceive Lucky in different ways to take him down.
They had many probelms throughout the story, that both of them were afraid of and excited about.

The author lead you thru obstacles of lust, romance, and some very hot scenes, along with betrayal and heartache.

The one thing that Lucky hated was Angelique. She was Zane’s brothers girlfriend before he died.
There was something about this girl that Lucky knew wasn’t right. Didn’t sit well with her.

And this story takes turns that you least expected. I totally didn’t expect what did happen, and the ending took you on a wild ride. A good ride..that left me smiling at the end.

I wonder if there will be a RUBY LANE??????

I cant wait to read the next book, The Other Side of Love which will be released Sept 2013! There is a prequel coming in July 2013 called Before Lucky and on ther Guarding his Heart due December 2013!!

Little excerpt~

“Zane, those are not boxer shorts.” I gasped as I stared at him standing there in his briefs half-naked.
“What can I say?” He grinned at me and grabbed me by the waist. “I have no shame when it comes to you.”

“Why do I think we’re making a huge mistake?” I laughed and we ran to the ocean hand-in-hand. We dropped our clothes on the sand and I raced ahead of Zane. “Catch me if you can.” I jumped into the water and gasped at how cold it was. I dove under and swam to warm myself up and as I bobbed back up, the cool air caressed my face while the sun kissed me. I lay back on my back and floated in the water enjoying the warmth on my face for a few seconds before Zane grabbed me from behind.

“Come here you.” He growled and wrapped his arms around me tightly.

~A little excerpt

The park was dark and quiet, but I had traveled this route so many times before that I didn’t think much of it. The grass was still a bit damp from the rain earlier, and the leaves were beginning to fall from their branches. I loved fall. I could honestly say it was my favorite season. There was something about the cool crisp air, the way it cleansed your lungs. The falling leaves, the colors and smells—it just made me want to curl up with a cup of hot cider.
I couldn’t help but smile as I stopped to tie my shoe. The park was usually quiet at this hour, although you would occasionally see a young couple making out or drinking, but all in all, it was relatively uninhabited. I heard rustling close by. It could just be a small animal, maybe a squirrel or even a deer. I whipped around, trying to see anything out of the ordinary in the vast dark space.
“Hello?” There was no answer—nothing unusual, but it still took a second to calm my heart rate. I giggled at the irony of it all. I always thought the “too stupid to live” characters in horror movies were so obnoxious when they’d ask if anyone was there. Seriously, like the killer would pop out and say hello. I shook my head. I was letting my imagination get the best of me.
I stood up, glancing once more over my shoulder before continuing on my way. Without a second to scream, an arm was around my neck, and a hand was over my mouth. I struggled to turn, but the strong arm applied more pressure on my throat, pulling me tighter against the hard chest of my attacker. I couldn’t breathe, much less scream. “I’m sorry. Just give me your money, okay?” The deep voice was the last thing I heard before everything went black.

Scarlett (Angel & Butterfly)

In order to follow this book you would first need to read metamorphosis.  Ambrosia picks up right where metamorphosis left off with Scarlett returning from her eight month hiatus.  The relationship between Scarlett and Mason is blossoming, but his move to Austin to build his music career is looming over them.  They both decide to try a long distant relationship, but some misunderstandings occur that make certain situations worse.  Ash has been in the background from the beginning of the book, but was there to support her when she needed him.  Scarlett has never stopped loving Ash and after her painful breakup with Mason, she realizes that Ash is her soulmate.  There is a twist towards the end of the book that will make waiting for Euphoria painful.

I have always been team Mason from the beginning.  He truly loves Scarlett and still accepts her even though he knows that she has a deep connection with Ash.  Their chemistry is very HOT!!!!!  There are many parts in the book that had me wearing oven mitts while reading my nook.

I was glad to see that Scarlett matured some, but she is still young and needs to find herself and learn to love herself before she gives her heart to someone else.
I really did not like Ash too much in the first book, but was glad to see that he has changed his ways and trying to be there for Scarlett in any capacity.  He has expressed his feelings to Scarlett and she now knows how Ash truly feels for her.
This book had me in a rollercoaster of emotions, not knowing what is going to happen minute by minute, and who she was going to end up with.  Erin left us hanging again and we shall see who Scarlett will hand her heart over to in the third book Euphoria.
